Hyundai Motor Group holds 2024 Korea-Africa Business Forum

Hyundai Motor Group held the ‘2024 Korea-Africa Business Forum’ at the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong on March 25 with the Korea-Africa Foundation and the Center for Sustainable Structural Transformation (CSST) under SOAS, University of London, UK. The SOAS CSST, which opened in February under the auspices of Hyundai Motor Group, is led by world-renowned scholar Professor Ha-Joon Jang of SOAS, University of London, and focuses on the development of supply chains, renewable energy, mineral resources, and infrastructure, which are key elements of sustainable development in Africa. Under the theme of “New Strategies for Korea-Africa Cooperation in an Era of Uncertainty,” the forum was organized to discuss how Korea and Africa can work together as strategic partners for sustainable development in the context of ongoing geopolitical uncertainty. The event featured discussions on private sector cooperation on supply chains, renewable energy, mineral resources, and infrastructure. Apart from this forum, Hyundai Motor Group will continue to collaborate with SOAS CSST on Africa and actively seek ways to promote social and economic development in Africa.

Hyundai Motor Group signs MOU with Saudi Arabia to create an eco-friendly future mobility ecosystem

Hyundai Motor Group announced on March 24 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Red Sea Global (RSG), one of the Saudi Giga Projects and the program’s driving force, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to introduce eco-friendly future mobility. In 2016, Saudi Arabia launched its Saudi Vision 2030 strategy to move away from an oil-driven economy and create a long-term growth engine.

RSG is one of the five officially declared Giga Projects of Saudi Vision 2030, including Neom (a futuristic new city), Qiddiya (an entertainment complex), Roshn (a housing development), and Diriyah (a heritage site development), which aims to create an eco-friendly luxury resort and wellness tourism destination on the Red Sea and western coast. Through the MOU, Hyundai Motor Group and RSG will cooperate to demonstrate eco-friendly mobility solutions and identify and promote opportunities for collaboration on future mobility solutions. Hyundai Motor Group will demonstrate electric and hydrogen vehicles at the Ummahat Islands resort complex in the Red Sea region being developed by RSG and AMAALA, an eco-friendly wellness tourism complex on the west coast, contributing to the expansion of eco-friendly mobility and the creation of an ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.
