Down to earth curriculum
Experience and knowhow
Unlike many other language schools driven by high tuition fees, ST Language School (CEO Sena Jegal) focuses on development of down to earth curriculum. “Many parents are trying to teach their children English at an early age. Likewise, many schools also seem to be making overseas English camps and training mandatory. As someone who has been teaching English for a long time, I have doubts that it is really necessary to spend so much money on English education. ST Language School, therefore, has researched English education masters home and abroad for many years and developed a curriculum and learning method that is suitable for Korean students. In other words, At ST Language School, children can learn English efficiently and effectively at home without the need of spending way too much money.” points out Jegal.
The school teaches children phonics in a linguistic way, rather than simply mimicking the names and sounds of the alphabet, which allows children to learn English words with less time and effort. To help elementary school students understand grammar concepts such as relative pronouns and infinitives and use them in conversation, the school is building a foundation in five areas and providing appropriate feedback to streamline the progress. In fact, students who start with the alphabet in first grade using this method have shown such remarkable gains that by third grade they are in the same classes as middle school students. The school provides equal opportunities for all children regardless of level, is observing that their performance is improving, and is producing students in the top 1% of the country and a number of Grade 1 students each year. Most of its students have a national level 3 or higher.
