Samsung Electronics held the ‘Samsung Developer Conference Korea 2024 (SDC24 Korea)’ online on November 21. The company has been holding this event every year since 2014 to communicate and collaborate with software developers. The event featured sessions ranging from the research areas of various software embedded in products, such as generative AI, software (S/W) platforms, IoT, healthcare, telecommunications, and data, to open source development. “We are focusing on securing artificial intelligence and data analytics technologies. We will unveil our unique generative AI model, Samsung Gauss2, and explain its enhanced performance and efficiency and how it can be utilized. This will improve workplace productivity and provide more convenient and differentiated customer experiences through phased product adoption.” says the company. Samsung Gauss2 is a multimodal language-code-image integration model that supports 9 to 14 languages and various programming languages. The company developed and applied its own LLM learning stabilization technique and designed the tokenizer to maximize efficiency for the supported languages.

Samsung Electronics launched AI Subscription Club on December 1 at Samsung Stores and Samsung.com nationwide. This is a service that allows consumers to pay a monthly subscription fee and use the product for a certain period of time, lowering the upfront cost of purchasing the product and making Samsung's latest products affordable for more consumers. More than 90% of its products, including TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and vacuum cleaners, are AI-powered and offer a variety of plans to help customers choose and purchase only the products and services they need. The All-in-One Plan is a product that optionally combines products, free repair services, and care services such as in-home care and self-care, and can be used for up to 60 months with the exclusive AI Subscription Club Samsung Card, which can be canceled at any time. The Smart Plan is characterized by allowing consumers to select only the services they want along with the purchase of the product, such as free repair service and care service, and a 36- or 60-month term.
