KOTRA and the Korea Tourism Organization signed a trade and investment and tourism promotion business agreement at Seoul Cultural Reserve

KOTRA and the Korea Tourism Organization signed a business agreement on April 27 at the Seoul Cultural Reserve in Sangam-dong.

They are the public institutions with the largest overseas network and have overseas offices in 32 cities in 22 countries. The agreement includes ﹦promotion of tourism to Korea, ﹦co-hosting of Korean cultural events, and ﹦exchange of promotional contents.

They run a tourism program for overseas entrepreneurs participating in the Seoul Food exhibition at the end of May. In June, they plan to jointly host offline promotional exhibitions for Korean consumer goods in Malaysia and Turkiye, support Korean cultural experiences for foreign-invested companies, and promote Korea to global companies participating in the Invest KOREA Summit scheduled to be held in the fourth quarter.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of India-Korea diplomatic relations, they agree to strengthen future industrial cooperation

On April 26, KOTRA held the ‘India-Korea Future Industry Partnership Forum and Consultation’ at The Grand Hotel in New Delhi, India. India is South Korea’s eighth largest exporter and fourth largest trade surplus. Bilateral trade has steadily recovered since the pandemic, peaking at $27.8 billion last year ($18.9 billion in exports and $8.9 billion in imports). This event is designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of India-Korea diplomatic relations this year, to look at electric vehicles, carbon neutrality, and ICT, which are considered promising areas for future cooperation, and to further expand business exchanges between companies of the two countries.

At the consultation meeting held on the 26th and 27th of this month, electric vehicles, carbon neutrality, and more than 80 companies from the two countries in the ICT field participated to discuss cooperation plans for export and joint ventures.

Alok Kumar, director of the Indian Centre for Advanced Technology, introduced a plan through the National Green Hydrogen Mission to provide about $2.4 billion to produce 5 million tons of green hydrogen per year by 2030. At this event, Korean secondary and lithium-ion battery companies participated and sought opportunities for close cooperation with Indian companies for production.

In the digital field, 5G mobile communication services in India will be launched in October, and cooperation opportunities are expected to increase in the future.
