Yangsan City is the center of the economy, society, and culture of the eastern inland and is well known for Tongdosa Temple. This temple is one of the three major temples in Korea that houses the relics of Buddha and was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018. Yangsan City is considered a healing travel destination with eight outstanding landscapes, and spring is especially a good time to visit.

From plum blossoms to cherry blossom paths
The first place to see on a spring trip to Yangsan is the red plum blossoms at Tongdosa Temple. The red plum blossoms are famous for being the first to bring news of spring, and they start to bloom in early February, reach their peak in mid-February, and continue to bloom from late February to early March. Tongdosa Temple is the temple with the largest number of tangible Buddhist cultural assets (43 types) among Korean temples, and the Seongbo Museum, which opened in 1999, is the first Buddhist museum in Korea. In March, plum blossoms are in full bloom, capturing the attention of visitors. Wondong-myeon boasts a picturesque landscape with the Nakdong River and Gyeongbu Line railroad, and the Wondong Plum Blossom Festival is also held, where local specialties can be purchased. The cherry blossom road in Mulgeum is covered in full bloom and cars are not allowed on the road, allowing visitors to enjoy the fantastic scenery while passing through the cherry blossom tunnel.

From flowers to activities
In April, the Yangsancheon Riverside and Hwangsan Park area turn yellow with rape blossoms, and a wildflower festival is held around Tongdosa Temple, showcasing over 100 species of wild flowers native to Korea. In addition, various writing contests are held. In May, Cheon Seong San is the best place for azaleas. In addition, you can drink 70~80 kinds of flower tea and health tea, and you can even make them yourself. At Naewha Ranch in Togoksan, you can feed cows and calves, and make milk ice cream, cheese, and pizza.
