Population of aged over 60 are increasing sharply in Sout Korea. Rural areas where young people leave to cities in an hope to find a better job especially is hit hard. The government is rolled up sleeve to find solutions while private senior care centers are opening their business one after another.

Located in Hadong County, South Gyeongsang Province, Noryang Silver Town is one these facilities offering quality living environment for elderly. Starting from the Jahye Welfare Foundation and accommodated 50 elderlies in 2006, it face-lifted in the name of Hanryeone in 2009 and eventually Noryang Silver Town in 2015 with 100 senior elderlies.

"I and all of my staff here are working with professionalism and take care of elderlies like they are our family. One cannot work here without a devotional heart and diligence" says Lee Hye-bok, the director of Noryang Silver Town.

July 2008, the government applied the Long Term Care Insurance to senior citizens in general in addition to the people with basic living allowance. The good things about spending later life at senior care center is that they can make friends who they can share their stories with, and be taken care of daily life as well as health status.

All sons and daughters might have a will to take care of their aged parents but they have a life to live and family to feed. Senior care center in this regard can be an ideal alternative.

At Noryang Silver Town, elderlies have no time to be bored as there are many friends to meet and abundant entertainments to enjoy. The entertainments are not only about make them laugh out loud but also about improve their symptoms of diseases if they have any.

In medical side, the town runs rehabilitation programs from physical and exercise therapies to diet as well as administering flu vaccines. The services also include laundry, hair, bath, walking the park, shopping, banking and going exhibition or concert. Location-wise, Geumo Mountain stands as backdrop and the blue southern sea winks back to the mountain in front.

"Environment is closely related to disease. Where to live can significantly affect your health. The clean air comes foremost followed by healthy food, healthy habit and healthy residence."

Emphasizing the importance of welfare for elderly in this time of aging society, Lee and his team are determined to make the best services possible in the industry.
