SNS shopping gets easier with Egtech

Egtech is a distribution and sales specialist located in Daejeon. CEO Baek started with education and expanded the scope to online contents, on/off line marketing and e-commerce. It is noteworthy that he received around 10 million interactions with consumers in the year 2017: 4 million on closed markets, 6 million on SNS, 300,000 on B2B and 700,000 on mobile apps.

Bringing innovation to SNS shopping

Egtech has 40 channels on Kakao Story that is connected to 1,500 channels and 2 million users and it suggests products and carries on the sales.

“I’m currently expanding the service platforms to Instagram and YouTube. While products are sold on CJ, GS, Lotte, SSG, Hyundai Home Shopping, Coupang, Wemakeprice and 11st, I also launched my own brands such as Nature Share, TRISHULA and FEEL TOWEL” says Baek. Egtech has been promoting products and sales on an Instagram shopping channel with 1 million followers. Through this, Egtech secured contracts with famous sellers and increased its sales figure. Baek sees SNS shopping as a highly promising sales platform and is moving fast to secure a substantial share in the industry.

Efficiency-driven cold chain system

Egtech received credit for its efficiency-driven cold chain systemthat has contributed to distributing the freshest agricultural products possible to consumers.

“Freshness is most important when it comes to agricultural and marine products. I’m currently is working on launching ‘ready to eat home-cooked meals’ for people living alone which is increasing rapidly in the Korean society nowadays. One of the advantages of SNS shopping is that both sellers and buyers can save money on direct dealing without any intermediary agents. So I’m focusing on products that are fresh yet have good price.” Meanwhile, Egtech is pushing forward its plan to secure a number of sole distributor contracts with Dawon Pet Mipu, Samhwa Sangsa, elions and Avantgarde.

Communications and sharing

Apart from running Egtech, Baek is serving as the president of the Korea Social Network Services Operator Association. The association promotes rights and interests of SNS operators as well as communication and exchange of information between members. The word communication is very important to Baek who is practicing its meaning not only in business but also in helping people in need. Egtech is actively engaging in volunteer activities in cooperation with Kara (animal protection group), the Korea Single Mothers Association, the ChildFund Korea and the Youth Employment Academy.

Regarding the Youth Employment Academy, Baek says “The on-site training of the Youth Employment Academy equips students with necessary skills for open market, distribution, sales, social commerce and e-commerce. It is notable that many CEOs and students are considering SNS-based e-commerce as a promising future business and the role of Egtech is to help them make it happen.”
