- Yoon invites descendants of independence activists
Yoon attends ISCR 2024
Yoon attended ISCR 2024, held in Seoul in August. This event is an international event hosted by the National Police Agency every year, where law enforcement agencies around the world strengthen international cooperation and enhance their cybercrime response capabilities through collaboration with private sector experts. It began in 2000 and is now in its 25th year, and this is the first time a sitting president has attended. In his congratulatory speech, he said that with the rapid development of new technologies including AI, it is becoming increasingly difficult to fight cybercrime, and that hacking organizations backed by the state are carrying out cyberattacks to the point that they threaten not only individuals and companies but also national security.
He also said that he announced the ‘National Cyber Security Strategy’ last February. He stated that based on this, he will train the best human resources and further accelerate the development of cybersecurity technology. He promised that the Korean government will continue to provide the necessary support and attention so that AI digital technology can expand human freedom and welfare and so that future generations can enjoy the benefits of its innovation.
Yoon invites descendants of independence activists
Yoon invited about 100 descendants to a luncheon to celebrate Liberation Day for independence activists. He said that thanks to the sacrifices and dedication of independence heroes, we were able to reclaim our country, and that he will never forget the will of our ancestors who protected and developed the values of freedom, and that he will devote his efforts to building a free, peaceful, and prosperous Korea. He personally introduced the descendants of independence activists from the United States, China, and Kazakhstan, and expressed his gratitude for their willingness to travel a long way to visit their homeland. About 30 descendants of independence activists from overseas who were visiting Korea at the invitation of the government attended the event. Also, university students who received scholarships from companies that have business agreements with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs also had lunch together.
