Yoon attends Buddhist festival

President Yoon attended a Buddhist festival on January 30. Hosted by the Association of Korean Buddhist Orders and the Buddhist Leaders Forum, the event was attended by numerous high officials. The association's vice president Monk Jukeong in his opening speech wished the people and the nation hope and happiness in the year 2024. In his congratulatory speech, Yoon said that the government's welfare for the vulnerable reflected Buddha's teaching and he would do his best to make a warm and livable country.

He said "Korean cultural assets cannot be talked without Buddhism. The National Heritage Agency, soon to set sail, will protect Buddhist assets more systematically and efficiently." Yoon and attendants including college students hung lotus lanterns wishing happiness of all Koreans on the day.

 

Yoon congratulates Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province

President Yoon congratulated officials of newly launched Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province on January 18. The province is to receive exceptional support for agriculture, environment, human resource and finance as a result of the new administration. The goal of the special self-governing is to create a balanced social infrastructure wherever in the nation. The development is led by the local government. Yoon emphasized in his congratulatory speech that the balanced development was the very foundation of the national economy and he would provide necessary support for this. The province will receive support for tourism, agricultural platforms and bio/convergence/manless/battery/K-pop businesses.
