South Korean children’s functional shoes brand Narachan helps children with difficulty of walking

Feet takes 2% of our body but they hold up the 98%. When we make a step, our feet endure 1.5 times load of our weight and pump back the blood up. For this reason, feet are called the second heart of our body. 

So it is important for us to keep our feet healthy. In that respect, we must be careful when choosing shoes as wrong shoes can cause fatigue or even worse case foot diseases such as plantar fasciitis and intoe. Children wearing comfortable shoes especially is more important as they are growing. 

A South Korean children’s functional shoes brand Narachan has a special founding story: CEO Jeeah Lee’s daughter was born with hemiplegia and she had to depend on prosthesis. Finding not a single pair of shoes that fit for her daughter, Lee devised a pair of shoes herself for her daughter. And this was the start of Narachan so that children with similar symptoms like her daughter can walk better. 

Narachan shoes are designed for as little as 12 month old babies to children especially with conditions such as hemiplegia, cerebral palsy, flat feet and pigeon-toed.  

“We walk the way we feel comfortable without ourselves knowing how we walk. It is ok if the walk is balanced. If it is not, it can lead to foot diseases and in worse case leads to disc as it hardens cervical vertebra and lumbar vertebra. Likewise, wrong shoes also can affect the overall balance of the body not to mention the legs which directly affected” says Lee.

Taking into consideration of these factors, Narachan is designed based on 3D ergonomic rendering based on each different shape of foot. The design especially focuses on protecting ankles to prevent sprain. Comfortably designed does not mean it is confined to sneakers alone but covers slippers, insole and special shoes. All shoes of Narachan are made 100% domestically. 

Narachan is the first functional shoes brand for children in the nation. Recognizing the good will and innovativeness of CEO Lee, a globally famous luxury brand and Lotte Department Store are under deals for collaboration. Narachan also was recognized by a number of professors for excellent functions and designs.
