Unlike in the past where horseriding was regarded as a sport for the rich, people in general can enjoy the riding today. Around 50,000 people in South Korea are regularly visiting the course according to a survey. Horseriding is a whole body exercise and a 45 minute riding is equal to a 2 hour jogging. Because we must keep straighten the body while riding, it can also be a good exercise for us to keep our spine and waist straight.

One drawback still can be that it is in the open air and affected by weather conditions. Mihwa Kim was one of those who were disappointed on this and it was the start of the Horseriding Simulation Center. Instead of real horses, the center uses simulation horses.

“The horses are made like they are real and the screen in front of each horse makes you feel you are running up the heal and down. The movement of Roboma gives near similar movement of a real horse and I have applied for a patent for this technology. It does not strain joints but rather helps you exercise joints and muscles” explains Kim.

The horseriding simulator gives around 80 to 90% feel of real horseriding. Each horse is differently shaped and so is its movement. A number of clubs are already formed to enjoy this indoor horseriding regardless weather conditions.

Riding indoor horseriding simulation makes you free form unexpected accidents such as falling from the real horse or kicked by it. The seat belt also fastens you to the horse so that you can ride without a worry of any unexpected accidents. <PowerKorea>
