Korea Polytechnics Asan fosters talented future AI, SW and block chain experts

South Korean government is pushing forward Korean New Deal that turns the existing economic paradigm to cutting edge science and technology. Many experts are predicting that the world will be different after the pandemic and governments and companies in the world are struggling to take better positions in advance. Regardless their plans, advanced technologies are expected to play important parts alongside global movement of carbon neutrality which South Korean government has legalized it already. The government is pouring a considerable amount of time, effort and budget into fostering talented future AI, SW and block chain experts.

 

 

Last year, the Ministry of Science and ICT announced the Regional ICT Innovation Square to foster 37,000 AI and software experts by pouring 165 billion won ($137 million) until 2025. The Square consists of software development, information communication technology, artificial intelligence and block chain. The ICT complex has been opened in 4 zones and AI space in 18 places in 15 cities and provinces as of October 2021. Everybody who has interest in the fields can join the ICT complex equipped with high performance computers and test smart devices. Among the local governments and organizations that are participating in the Square is Korea Polytechnics Asan.

Korea Polytechnics Asan is running the Square with programs for the latter half of the year 2021 as follows: smart factory-based AI analysis and application (semiconductor, car parts and display), big data and AI analysis data scientists, AI beginners, block chain program language practice, block chain e-document application, and block chain application service development. Block chain technology especially is very promising as it can be used in many areas of industry including manufacturing, public services, finance and medicine. Black chain in fact is the most popular course of the Square.
