Kookhak kigong is a method of mindbody training. Adopting the idea from a Korean martial art ‘sundo’, it developed into sport for all. The Korea Kookhak Kigong Association has provided various forms of midbody training to people such as energy gymnastics, breathing and mediation since 1980. It became an official member of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee in 2016.

The newly elected president Gwon Dae-han took the steering wheel of the Seoul branch on March 27 to drive it until 2024. Gwon is CEO of Seaohsun and Wowbaby.

“Like the founder Lee Seung-hun emphasized ‘symbiotic relationship’, we should find way to live together over me and you and the power to find way I think comes from keeping our mind and body sound and positive. The power is but the energy that bridges mind to body and vice versa” said Gwon in his inauguration speech.

Gwon has brought up 3 projects to carry out during his term: Alzheimer’s prevention, senior and youth engagement and fostering 1,000 level 3 instructors. He also put up a goal to increase the number of the Seoul branch to 100,000 until 2024 through independence of district office, systematization of 300 instructors, regular meeting and conference online and social media promotion.
