Manless stationary store with fancy gadgets and snacks plays a magic room for children: Play Moongu

(PowerKorea) There is a stationary store in an alley in front of an elementary school in Yeomchang-dong, Gangseo District, Seoul. A group of children on their bikes rode fast and stopped rapidly at the store and hurried into it. The reason is the store, Play Moongu, not only sells stationeries but also things they like and snacks they fancy; and it plays a magic room for them.

Hwang Sun-geum, CEO of Play Moongu, is a working mom and used to work for an IT company. It was 10 pm every evening when she arrived home after work. She did not have time to prepare school supplies for her children. One day, she thought it was not only her struggling like this but other moms also. So she brought up an idea of an exciting stationary store with no one to manage but a cutting edge gadget. 

“Manless for me was a brilliant idea as it can save labor cost and suits non-contact business in times of the pandemic. What was more brilliant was to use ERP system to make children’s likes and dislikes into data. The kiosk, for example, analyzes order, stock, inventory and gains and loss at once as well as the sales trend by time and date. It can also control the lighting and music of the store which makes it such a fun for children” says Hwang.

You can start a store with 40 million won (35,819 USD) initial capital. All stationaries and goods are supplied and displayed by the head office. 7 stores are currently in business and CEO Hwang is ambitious to increase the number to 100 within this year.
