Nara Bio’s innovative ModuSsack, ModuSsack Ca+Mg, ModuSsack Aminofull and Ddangbuja bring eco-friendly farming to farmers and eco-friendly food to consumers

(PowerKorea) Nara Bio is a South Korean eco-friendly fertilizer company established in 2018 under its marketing concept ‘creating a better and safer world from agricultural chemicals’. Nara Bio’s innovative ModuSsack and ModuSsack Ca+Mg have created a sensation among farmers and industry specialists alike for excellent effect and eco-friendliness. 

Marking the third anniversary of the establishing the company on April 2 at the GSCO Gunsan, Kim Il-ho, CEO of Nara Bio, announced his vision to make 15 billion won (13 million USD) sales in 2021, 25 billion won in 2022 and 35 billion won in 2023 alongside listing the company in KOSDAQ no later than 2022. 80 people of local bigwigs, business partners and members of the board attended the event that strictly followed the COVID-19 quarantine rules. 

MBC announcer Kim Cha-dong hosted the event and he introduced honorable guests one by one followed by video streaming of Nara Bio’s visions, products and sales performance, speech from CEO Kim Il-ho, congratulatory speeches from honorable guests, a presentation on scientific values and future of NTS (Non Toxic Sulfur), awarding ModuSsack gold badge to all employees, and handing out souvenirs. 

Nara Bio relocated the head office to Gunsan from Jeongju by securing a 46,280 square meter land September last year and the factory 1 is producing organic agro materials and the factory 2 fertilizers and feed. 

North Jeolla Provincial governor Song Ha-jin said that the pandemic had raised people’s awareness on eco-friendly agricultural products and Nara Bio’s giant step in the field was encouraging and hopeful for farmers as well as their income. 

Constituency lawmaker Shin Yeong-dae said in his congratulatory message that Nara Bio’s relocation of its facilities to Gunsan was more than welcome since the regional economy recently was experiencing a downturn with closure of major factories and he hoped Nara Bio would play a great role to regain the economic vibration.

Gunsan City deputy mayor Shin Hyun-seung said that Nara Bio was making excellent products based on scientifically proven NTS and the city would proactively support for Nara Bio to grow as a representative organic agricultural materials company in South Korea. 

Gunsan City Council member Song Mi-sook said that Nara Bio was making contribution to agricultural industry by minimizing the use of agricultural chemicals and the council would roll up sleeve to give unsparing support.

Nara Bio fan club president Park Suk-bae said that the club started with around 1,000 members in 2019 but had grown much to boast around 6,500 members who would always give support and encouragement.

Konkuk University professor Jang Gyeong-jin, who is also serving as deputy director of Nara Bio Research Center, in his presentation on scientific values and future of NTS, said that cell signaling of NTS was published on IJMM in 2020 based on which the company would introduce various cosmetics and health supplements through enhanced research focus on growth, development and fleshiness of animals and plants. 

ModuSsack proved by a number of tests that it has control effect on 36 diseases and insect pests on 27 crops including strawberry, chili pepper, pear, onion, cucumber, garlic, tomato and melon. The liquefied ModuSsack Ca+Mg and ModuSsack Aminofull are especially rich in calcium, magnesium, zinc and copper, and they help recovery and prevent chlorotic spots on leaves. Ddangbuja, yet another innovation of the company, is made of rice bran, mica and sulfur and it helps growth of crops, mix with soil and easy release in water, as proved in tests. 

Nara Bio teamed up with Konkuk University for R&D led by genetics professor Yang Young-mok with assistant professor Jang Gyeong-jin. The company has a number of patents and a license for Venture Enterprise and Venture Enterprise Research Center. 

Nara Bio received SMEs and Startups Minister’s prize for technology innovation at the Innovation Winner 2020 held by Herald Corporation and monthly PowerKorea. The company also listed its name in the winners of the Leading Innovator in Korea, Consumer Satisfaction Innovation Company, and Innovation Enterprise & Brand.
