Ahn Bo-young, Director of Korea Color School, had worked as a financial planner for 30 years until she quit in 2015. She worked as a visiting professor afterwards during which she happened to know about the world of colors. It made her open her eye wide to its charm and she decided to walk the path as a color-therapist ever since.

"Color therapy is a method to make people understand each different course of life from which they build better relationship with others. Colors are enchanting as the same color, red for example, looks and feels different when it comes to individual feelings and preference. I thought A was friend of mine once but it turned out not and I thought B was cold but she actually was warm inside and shared the same interest with me. Many of you might have felt this once or more in your life. The charm of color therapy is to hint this tendency of people by picking up the colors they like and mixing them" says Ahn.

Ahn calls this 'finding color DNA'. According to her, colors give 12 types of people and they can find their type by choosing and applying the colors with various tools such as clay and rings. Once found their own color DNA, they can understand about themselves better and make relationship with others smoother.

"Back then, I found myself often saying no to "Hey, let's have a drink" or "Let's go to the movie". It was time I liked the blue green which I didn't know why. I know now that it is the color for someone who tend to spend time alone. It doesn't mean I regret the time that I did not mingle with my colleagues and I want to go out often now. It just made me understand myself better and thus others."

At Korea Color School, she runs various color programs including color of money card game for children. It goes three steps from knowing color to color playing to finding myself with colors so that they can find their preference, aptitude, talent and many more. "I think color therapy is more of understanding myself and others than building academic knowledges. So I hope more people can find themselves through colors and build better relationships with others" says Ahn.
