Koreans have used charcoal for a long time. We do not know how they knew that charcoal had some benefits as numerous tests proved it today. Some of the benefits to count here are removal of odor, cut off of electromagnetic waves, emission of far-infrared radiation and onion, and moisture control in a room.
There are many kinds of charcoal and bamboo charcoal is known to be the most effective than its counterparts. Bamboo charcoal is white in color and boasts fine quality. The making process takes more effort than the black ones but the benefits compensate the effort.
Sinbiro is a South Korean company specialized in bamboo charcoal. The excellence of Sinbiro bamboo charcoal bed was outstanding at the 2020 Korea International Furniture & Interior Fair held at KINTEX as the large Russian distribution company Lanix signed a 1 million USD deal.
Bamboo is thin and difficult to make it into charcoal. But Sinbiro's years of expertise in the field and unique technique (patent No.10-0822013) made it possible for mass production.
"Bamboo turns ashes if the temperature goes over 230. So it must be burned at a temperature more than 1,000 for 18 hours for shortest and 22 hours for longest. Easier said than done, this principle took an arm and a leg of many trials and errors to succeed. This was the reason we joined hands with the National Institute of Forest Science to develop the technique in cooperation" says Sinbiro CEO Park Jeong-don.
The distinctive advantage of white charcoal is that it is so pure that even electricity can pass through. In other words, the bamboo has completely become carbonized. White charcoal has more pores and their texture is very complicated. But this makes it 10 times more effective than black charcoal.
Sinbiro uses bamboo produced in Geoje and Damyang which are known to be the best in South Korea. The tests held by the Korea Far Infrared Association and the Korea Far Infrared Applied Evaluation Institute showed that Sinbiro bamboo charcoal is excellent in deodorization and anion emission.
And the Sinbiro bamboo charcoal bed is the very result of these technologies and it helps ease muscle pain, recover fatigue and support sound sleep. The sensors loaded in the bed also cut off the power automatically when detected overheating or any possible fire hazard.
Sinbiro has made a number of appearances on popular TV shows including MBN Real Documentary Soom, EBS Extreme Job and TV Choson Gwanghwamun 640.
Prior to the deal with Russian Lanix, the Sinbiro bamboo charcoal bed has already been exported to the US, Canada and China. Taking the momentum, however, CEO Park is determined to push forward the export volume despite the virus spread but with a long term perspective.
