Miryang is known to be the place where Koreans first cultivated jujube from 410 years ago. Around Danjang-myeon of the city, 200 jujube farm houses are clustered producing yearly 1,500 to 2,000 tons of jujube among which Sangol Daechu Nongwon is leading the commerce. CEO farmer Kim Jeong-bok is also serving as the head of the Miryang Jujube Festival Preparation Committee.

The jujube farmers in the region make jujube into various products such as extract and snacks. They have built offline sales networks for direct selling to nearby big cities like Busan, Daegu and Changwon while online platforms deliver or supply Miryang jujube nationwide.

First introduced in 2007, the Miryang Jujube Festival makes most of city's tourist attractions to which yearly 1 million people pay a visit. The jujube farmers sell liquors, teas, vinegars, porridges, honey, extracts and snacks made of jujube during the festival season of which honey jujube gets most attention from Chinese, Japanese and Europeans.

The substance jujubosideA in jujube is known to ease tension and stress of the body and is good for blood circulation and prevention of cancer. Thanks to these healthy benefits and to excellent quality of Miryang jujube, consumers can now buy Miryang jujube at Seonwon Top Mart as well as Hanaro Mart.
