There are many genres of arts. Painting alone can be categorized into abstract, expressionism, cubism and many more. However, art shares two things in common regardless genres and they are our thoughts and emotions. From this different expressions are made according to different understandings and styles.

Park Tae-hwa is famous for her abstract art works that arouse unusual feeling in usual sentiment. The source of this is her yearning for childhood where she played in primitive nature with beautiful things bloom and wither, the wonder that cannot be explained with words but on the canvas.

"Relationship is the keyword of my works. I have this connection between a girl and nature in my childhood and I have another connection between the girl grown up now and a variety of other people living in the same world at the same time. From this I get emotional relationship and experience. And from this I hope people would find hope, positiveness, happiness and pleasure of our lives" says Park.

She also values brightness as much as relationship in her works since she focuses on delivering bright side of our lives instead of dark side. Life is intricately mingled and mixed and we lose our ways every now and then but find re-connection through communications, says she.

To add one more thing that makes her works unique is color. Because her works are mostly abstract, emphasizing colors is very important for her. Colors have this power to draw people into it. Red for example reminds us of something hot and passionate, blue vibration and rise but fall at the same time while green vitality, explains she.

These colors and lines mingle in harmony to create unique shapes and atmosphere in her works that seem to deliver a story or two. Park interprets this as a reflection of our lives.

Park has held solo exhibition once a year and this year is set to take place at the Modern & Contemporary Museum in Yongin City in September as an invitational followed by the Seoul Art Show held in December.

Despite her busy schedule, Park is teaching children time to time as she finds as much pleasure in teaching as creating her own works.
