EME Korea signs $8 million MOU with Gyeongsan City

While many industries on earth are suffering from COVID-19, personal mobility industry rather seems to enjoy increased demand due to people's awareness on importance of avoiding contacts with people. Personal mobility can be electric wheels, electric kick boards and electric bicycles that can move single person from one point to another in close proximity. 

A South Korean personal mobility company EME Korea has carried on R&D with passion in eco-friendly powered means of mobility for many years. The company wowed the industry specialists by introducing the nation's first self-power-generating electric bicycle alongside development of high efficiency motor and produce of secondary battery. 

EME Korea has introduced more than 30 kinds of electric scooter, kick board and bicycle lines loaded with its own developed batteries and trademarks

The company secured exclusive rights to sell imported personal mobility lines and has poured more than 8 billion won ($6.5 million) for 2 and a half years to obtain certificates and trademarks related to safety, electromagnetic wave and more than 50 KC marks. 

EME Korea also is the first company to have built the automated secondary battery production lines in South Korea with which the company recently released Stella 26 Inch, a self-power-generating bicycle. It generates power when the speed reaches to a certain level and it can run more than 10,000km. 

May 19 this year, EME Korea signed a 10 billion won ($8 million) MOU with Gyeongsan City to build manufacturing facilities in the Gyeongsan knowledge Industry Zone with creating 60 new jobs by 2023. The MOU states that the company lead the project while the city provides administrative support. 

EME Korea Gwangju Jeolla

Pitched up office December 2019, EME Korea Gwangju Jeolla is in charge of expanding business in the region which boasts well-built bicycle lanes alongside the Yeongsan River. Head Lee Hyun-sun and Manager Lee Joong-ho said that they also working on manufacturing of batteries in addition to after care services. 

"Unlike Europe where personal mobility is widely spread, South Korea still needs to improve awareness on its eco-friendliness, cost-effectiveness and easy-to-moveness. It is more practicable if the government offers subsidy so that more people can change the way they move. It is also a good idea to locate our personal mobility alongside tourist spots and paths to boost both regional tourism and eco-friendly industry" they voiced together.
