We might have heard of people saying ‘rising Vietnam, post China’ in public places nowadays. Since the Doi Moi policy that promotes opening of the market and innovation, Vietnam has seen a substantial economic growth. For this reason, some Koreans are looking job opportunities in Vietnam as the country is encouraging foreign investment and manpower.

In fact, the Doi Moi policy has drawn a large number of Korean companies and their businesses seem to be booming there. What makes Vietnam as a highly attractive market to invest for many Koreans? A number of factors can be taken into account: 1) 100 million populations 2) desire for foreign brands 3) large number of manpower in their 30s 4) fast economic growth followed by purchasing power. In addition, the Vietnam’s macroeconomics index is in good shape and inflation is in the controllable state.

Plunging into fostering talented manpower
The Korea Reform Culture Foundation is a Korean organization in Vietnam to foster talented manpower through government funded training for months and allocates them into right place at the right time on successfully finishing the course. The training covers Vietnamese language and job training including the role as middle manager. Apart from Vietnam, the foundation is carrying out welfare researches and businesses in South Korea alongside running a visiting sanatorium for elderly.

Opened in January 2007, the foundation has expanded its scope of business to environment, lifelong learning (February 2014), military welfare, startup training for screen golf course, and quite recently in July 2019 published a teaching material for first grade social worker (SeePass) alongside sponsoring Hope Marathon organized by Together With People.

In 2016, the foundation ran a customized academic course and an asset management course on behalf of the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency and in 2019 joined the K-MOVE project of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea; the foundation selected 10 candidates to train them as global think tank in Hai Phong, Vietnam, of which 8 of them have already secured a job in the local.

The training is consisted of 180 hours for purchasing, trade, accounting, leadership, self-development and company tour, 631 hours for Vietnamese language, and 191 hours for electricity safety, fire safety, labor law, quality management and Vietnam culture tour.

Embracing welfare, education and culture as one social service to create a better society
“The Korea Reform Culture Foundation is established to create a society that shares and communicates. The members of the foundation promotes better environment for co-growth of society members through sharing, welfare, education and culture projects. So we are determined to keep doing our very best in implementing our duty and responsibility” says Sunghee Choi.
