Mineral water business has steadily grown in South Korea by making the most of its advantage of having mountains covering the 70% of the land.Entrepreneurs are struggling to attract more consumers by promoting theunique taste and the mineral contents of their water. Among many of these mineral water entrepreneurs, Changwoo seems to be rising to the center of attention for 25 years of bottling fresh rock water from Gyeryong Mountain and for balanced mineral contents.

Water makes up 70% of our body. It delivers oxygen and releases waste and helps metabolism. The Korean medicine book <Dongui Bogam> says that water decides a person to be thin or fat and to live longer or shorter. The water bottled by Changwoo is recognized for a perfect concentration balance between magnesium and calcium and its PH is around 7.9 and 8.0.
“We run a 35,100 square meter big factory in an eco-friendly way in Jeongan-myeon Gongju City South Chungcheong Province.The fresh water we use runs from the Baekdu mountain range to the Nonsan Plain viathe Charyeong Range. So the water is abundant in the region and the source of pollution is scarce”explains Oh.

Changwoo is a highly praised water bottler in South Chungcheong Province thanks to its proactive social contribution in addition to the famous rock water. The company once donated 40,000 bottles of fresh rock water to local residents through Gongju City during scorching hot summer days.
The global mineral water business is estimated 7,000 billion dollars and it is expected to grow yearly 4% until 2022. But the usage of water has grown 1.6 times faster than population growth and half of the people on earth are predicted to suffer from water shortage by 2025, according to some experts.
“So my goal is to keep finding better and more effective ways to bottle and distribute fresh rock water to people not only in South Korea but also to the world.”
