Hamyang County is nicely located in the northwest of South Gyeongsang Province with Jirisan Mountain at its southern part.
On August 6th, the mayor of the county Seo Choon-soo and his staff gathered together in a meeting to check up on his 64 election pledges and their improvement measures. They agreed that 61 out of the 64 were plausible and decided to work on implementing the pledges one by one.
The major pledges include 1) real-name service contract 2) launching an integrity team 3) limitation on private contracts 4) building a children's center 5) building a complex cultural library 6) opening medical center for infants and children 7) regenerating rural villages 8) modernization of cattle auction market 9) opening of agricultural products auction market 10) building a local products distribution center 11) local products branding projects.
Also notable pledges are 1) building a lifelong learning center for disabled 2) car support for elderly 3) multi-cultural family support 4) issuing gift cards 5) improving Korean house villages 6) building a tourism hotel 7) creating a food street.
Meanwhile, Seo and the staff checked on the preparation for the Hamyang Ginseng & Waterwheel Festival held from 7 to 16 September. After touring the event booths and places, Seo asked the organizing officials to make sure of health and safety of the facilities as well as convenience of the visitors.
Seo emphasized that the festival would be the prelude of the Hamyang Wild Ginseng Anti-aging Expo 2020 so it was very important that they should make it a great success.
